Film Writers Deserve a Place in The Spotlight

Yes Indeed we are starting this week off with our GREAT Film Writers. Today is monday and we will be recognizing some of the writers that have been putting in work throughout HOLLYWOOD! Of course I have to show some love for the West Coast as well as my city in which I was born and raised-Los Angeles Ca... Drum Roll Please... How did you know? Yes John Singleton it is! Many of us just think he directed "Boyz N The Hood" but he also wrote the screen play for this film. After winning several awards at USC's Film Writing Program, Singlenton exploded onto the scene with his first film, Boyz N the Hood (1991), a tough, intelligent, plain speaking look at friends in gang-ridden South Central L.A that earned him Oscar nominations for Best Original Screen Play and Best Director, becoming the first African American (and the youngest filmaker ever) to do so. WOW!!!:O

  1. One of my favorite is Paul Haggis,he wrote Crash and Million Dollar Baby..
he makes my list not only because he's an amazing man, but i really admire writers that take risks and explore topics everyone thinks about but is afraid to say out loud..
